As a New Zealand passport holder (my wife is a NZer), obviously I don’t have a problem working in NZ. I currently work in London, but my wife and I have decided to move back to New Zealand. So now it’s about making it happen.
I just wondered how realistic it is to try to set up a job in New Zealand from over here. I have a good job in London so I would not want to leave without some security for employment there. My skills are in web development, multimedia, writing, editing and communications.

Thanks for the email, I’ve been interested in coming to New Zealand for some time. I live in the US, and have been doing seasonal work in our National Parks here. I’ve worked in Yellowstone Park, the Grand Canyon South Rim, and currently working at the Grand Canyon North Rim as a server/waiter.
I’ve been told that if a person wants to migrate to New Zealand, they need a AA, BA, or some kind of degree. And also, need to be 30 and under. Is this true?
I’ll be coming to New Zealand at the end of Oct. for 2 weeks of fly fishing and a walk about.
Any info you have on this would be greatly apriacaited.

Hi Clayne,
whilst being young and having degrees does help with meeting immigration criteria it isn’t always necessary. The upper age limit for migrating to NZ as a skilled migrant is actually 55 and many people move without having a degree. If you can gain enough points under the immigration system and have skills that are needed in NZ then you could have options to move here. I am sure you will love your time in NZ and if you are near Auckland at any point just let me know and we can arrange to meet up an have a chat about your plans.

Hello, I am desiring to “pave the way” for myself and my family to NZ from the United States. I am 47 years old and owned a mortgage brokerage firm from 1992-2009. I have also active in real estate sales since 2006. I would like to coordinate a trip to NZ to meet with someone that is willing and able to help me find suitable employment, housing and provide sound, honest advice. Once established, my family (spouse and 3 kids) will trail. My spouse holds a Bachelors Degree from a well respected and credible University and is in the process of obtaining her teaching certificate. She is also well versed in piano and experienced in teaching piano/music.We have worked together in our mortgage business for the last 18 years that we have been married. We are now trying to re-invent ourselves and feel that it may be best for our children’s future to relocate to another country. Based on what we have read and seen, it seems NZ may be perfect. We also have Australia as an option. Any help you can provide is most appreciated.

Hello and good day Paul. My wife and I are in the dreaming phase of working in New Zealand from November to April.
We have a gold (placer )mine here in Yukon Canada and dream about living and working there in the winter months. Cleaning fine gold is my trade. I also weld and operate heavy equipment.
I am also a house painter and would do almost anything if it meant earning some money and having a new experiance.
